Ruapehu Country Lodge is a real home from home, with lovely grounds backing onto a golf course. The hosts, Peter and Heather, make you feel like part of the family. The breakfasts are delicious, and their attention to detail is perfect. They even have a friendly dog, Ricky, who adds to the welcoming atmosphere. The location is great, close to Whakapapa ski field and the stunning Ruapehu lodge. We loved playing with the animals in their garden and felt totally at ease during our stay. Definitely recommend!

For dads, it would be great to have a small playground for the children.

My stay at Ruapehu Country Lodge was absolutely fantastic! Peter and Heather, the owners, were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the homemade bread. The room was cozy, warm, and impeccably clean. One highlight was getting to play with their adorable dog Ricky Martin and feeding the alpacas and sheep on their property. It truly made my trip memorable.

The common areas were tastefully decorated and provided a comfortable space for relaxing and socializing with fellow travelers. As a senior, I appreciated the lodge's accessibility, with easily accessible ramps and handrails throughout, ensuring my safety and comfort during my stay.

I would have appreciated a bit more assistance from the staff in terms of catering to the needs of senior guests. Perhaps some additional services or facilities specifically designed for older individuals would have made the vacation even more enjoyable.
